In its first three years, Indiana’s Choice Scholarship Program has experienced explosive growth. Last year, 38 million Hoosier tax dollars were spent to send more than 20 thousand kids to private schools.
While critics claim the program drains resources from our important public school system, many parents are embracing the school voucher system.
“I feel like this is best for my child,” said Brenda Buck, a parent at South Bend’s Our Lady of Hungary School. “Thanks to the voucher program, it made it easier financially to make it happen.”
NewsCenter 16’s Mark Peterson asked parents, school administrators, and lawmakers to weigh in on the Hoosier voucher program. Watch “Are School Vouchers Failing our Children?” a special report Tuesday just before six on NewsCenter 16.
