BETHEL COLLEGE--- Bethel Athletic Director Tom Visker has announced that Andrew Wodrich will become the 10th Head Coach of the Bethel women's basketball program.

Coach 'Woody' Wodrich accepted the position on July 1st and will start the full-time position on July 10th.

Wodrich is no stranger to Bethel College or the Mishawaka area.

The 2003 graduate of Mishawaka High School joined the Bethel men's basketball team upon graduation and played for two seasons with the Pilots.

In 2004, Wodrich began his coaching journey at the Midwest Basketball Academy, a nationally known girls' basketball AAU program, located in Mishawaka.

From 2004-2007, Wodrich helped establish teams ranging from 9U-16U and in 2007 took the role as Vice President and Director of the Indiana Elite Girls' Basketball Program.

As the VP and Director, Wodrich was part of a 2008 AAU State Championship as well as a runner-up finish in 2007 and 2009.

Wodrich moved into the world of women's college basketball in 2010 by joining Western Michigan University in the role of Director of Basketball Operations.

A year later, Wodrich moved into an assistant coaching role for the Lady Broncos where he focused on the team's offensive production.

In 2012, Wodrich made a move across the state to Central Michigan and joined the Chippewas and helped them to a MAC Tournament Championship and a bid to the NCAA National Tournament.

After a successful season, Wodrich was promoted to the Offensive Coordinator and Co-Recruiting Coordinator heading into the 2013-14 season.

The Chippewas finished the season as MAC Champions by going 16-2 during regular-season conference play.

The Central Michigan's offense, called by Wodrich, was the top offense in the MAC while the MAC's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year were both from Central Michigan's roster.

"I want to thank Dr. Chenoweth and Dr. Visker for allowing me to be a part of the Bethel family," said Coach Wodrich. "I am extremely blessed and have been called and equipped to fulfill this "season" of my journey. We are moving full speed ahead and want to continue the vision of a GREATer Bethel College. I am looking forward to the days ahead and will be the best servant leader that I can possibly become!"

"Andrew is an excellent fit for our program!" expressed Athletic Director Tom Visker. "He has a great basketball mind and a passion for developing his players athletically and spiritually. His NCAA Division I coaching experience and his recruiting connections will make our strong program even stronger."

Wodrich will take the place of Coach Jody Martinez who led the Lady Pilot basketball program for 16 seasons.

Martinez won six NCCAA National Championships and made seven trips to the NAIA National Championships during his tenure while compiling a record of 387-180.

Last season, the Lady Pilots finished seventh in the Crossroads League with a season record of 12-19.
