Alleged sexual contact with a student could bring up to 20 years in prison

MISHAWAKA, Ind. - A 25-year-old high school employee faces up to 20 years in prison for allegedly having sexual contact with a student.

Ryan Mouch today was formally charged with a single count of sexual misconduct with a minor, which is a class C felony, punishable by six to 20 years in prison.

According to court documents, Mouch was a hall monitor at Mishawaka High School and had worked there since August of 2013.

Mouch’s relationship with a 15 year old female student apparently began when she asked him for homework help.

The girl told police that she and Mouch exchanged phone numbers and that the communications turned sexual in nature.

Last month, on St. Patrick’s Day, she allegedly called him seeking help with math. He allegedly told her to walk west from the high school and he would pick her up in his car.

Court documents indicate Mouch did pick her up and drove to Merrifield Park where he kissed her and touched her sexually with his hand.

The probable cause document claims that Mouch met with police and admitted that he touched the student inappropriately.

Mouch today bonded out of jail. The judge ordered that he have no contact with the alleged victim.
