Alleged gas station robber leaves wallet at scene

SOUTH BEND "The SBPD encourages all robbery suspects to leave identification behind at the crime scene."

South Bend Police got lucky when an armed gas station robber dropped his wallet at the crime scene.

Marrell T. Lee, 22, is accused of robbing a Phillips 66 gas station during the early hours of April 7.

During the robbery at the W. Western Avenue location, the suspect allegedly dropped his wallet, which contained his Illinois ID card.
After attempting for several days to locate Lee, he was located and arrested for robbery.

Police say Lee had recently moved to South Bend from Chicago.
