All in the Family: Goshen hires Kyle Park as new football coach

Goshen High School has not had stability its its football program since the days of Brad Park.

The Redskins are turning to the Park family to bring back the Goshen tradition.

Goshen officially hired Brad's son Kyle as its new head football coach Monday night. Kyle Park is a 1997 Goshen graduate and spent the last five years as the offensive coordinator at Zionsville High School.

Kyle takes over for Mike Cheviron who stepped down after an 0-10 season. Kyle is Goshen's 8th coach in 13 seasons dating back to Goshen's glory days coached by his father.

Brad Park was 81-34 in 10 seasons as the Redskins coach from 1993-2002, leading Goshen to three sectional championships and an appearance in the the 1999 state championship game.

Goshen has had just two winning seasons since, winning a totally of just 12 games over the last five seasons.

Kyle Park becomes the 2nd son of a former legendary coach hired at the same school in two weeks in the Northern Lakes Conference. NorthWood recently hired Nate Andrews as its new coach. Nate is son of the Panthers late legendary coach Jim Andrews.
