SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- Over 100 people competed on bike, by foot and in the swimming pool at the YMCA's youth and adult triathlons this morning.

It was the third-annual “Three-For-Three Triathlon”, which features all three traditional activities with a twist.

Competitors ran and biked along the Riverwalk in South Bend, and swam the first leg of the race at the YMCA's indoor pool.

The adult triathlon was held first so parents could cheer on their children in the youth race.

Kids as young as seven to as old as 15 competed, and impressed the adults with their athleticism.

“My favorite part is actually seeing the kids participate, their energy level, and they're excited about it,” said Dani Elgas, Director of Healthy Living at the Michiana YMCA.

The money raised goes to the YMCA's Live Strong programs for adult cancer survivors.
