Niles Police need the public's help to track down suspects in a string of armed robberies. Admiral gas stations were the targets of five separate incidents from October through December 2012.
The incidents happened at the Admiral on Chicago Road as well as the station on Oak Street.
Identifying the suspects has been tough due to what they wore during the robberies.
"Most of them had covered their faces with a towel, rag, shirt or some kind of cloth,"said Detective Rick Krueger, Niles Police Department. "We have a total of six suspects and we don't believe they are related."
Security cameras captured a few of the robberies. While no arrests have been made, detectives have been able to link one suspects to another robbery in Michigan City.
"the Michigan City Check-n-Go was also robbed," Krueger said. Identical. We know it is the same person."
In one of the surveillance videos, a suspect is seen pointing a gun at a food delivery man and then pointing his gun at the gas station employee. One clerk at the Chicago Road store had to go through the experience twice.
Police say they have stepped up patrols in these areas and that the stations have added things like motion sensor lights, began to lock their doors at night and complete some transactions through a small window instead of the open counter.
"The clerks are being really vigilant about who is around the building," Krueger said.
