The Martin's Supermarket shooting was an eye-opening experience for many Michiana residents.

It serves as a reminder that shootings can happen anywhere, even at your neighborhood grocery store.

On Wednesday, dozens spent time learning how to survive an active shooter attack at South Bend's Century Center.

Colonel Dave Grossman shared ways to protect our community. He provides counseling to people involved in shooting massacres, like Virginia Tech.

He wants to see police surveillance at schools to keep students safer.

He also thinks the building should remain locked throughout the day.
Grossman also met with a large group of Michiana police officers.
