INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Acting U.S. Surgeon General Boris Lushniak will be in Indianapolis for an anti-smoking program.

Lushniak is scheduled to attend the Indiana Tobacco Control Partner Information X-Change on Tuesday, hosted by the Indiana State Department of Health's Tobacco and Prevention and Cessation Commission. He will be there to discuss the 50th anniversary of the surgeon general's report that launched the anti-smoking movement.

Lushniak earlier this year released a 980-page report on smoking that pushed for stepped-up tobacco-control measures. He urged that country have a new resolve to make the next generation a smoke-free generation.

The meeting Tuesday will bring together partners and stakeholders from across Indiana to discuss smoking cessation and tobacco control efforts.
