Police quickly found and arrested a suspect involved in a Thursday morning bank robbery in La Porte.
At around 11 a.m. officers from the La Porte Police Department were dispatched to Fifth Third Bank on the 800 block of Monroe St. in La Porte after receiving a call that the bank was robbed.
Bank employees relayed a description of the robber to the first officers arriving at the bank, and within a short span of time they were able to identify, locate and take the suspect, Ryan Mounts, 32, into custody.
The La Porte Police Dept. says it was an “outstanding collaborative effort” by the responding officers, detectives and deputies of the county’s sheriff department.
A search warrant was issued for Mounts’ apartment, he has been charged with robbery.
