A 'Color Run' rainbow invades South Bend

South Bend, Ind. It’s made its way around the world but the 5-K Color Run finally brought the rainbow to South Bend this Saturday.

Masses of runners, spectators, and paint tossers invaded the streets of South Bend in an event that organizers call “The happiest 5-K on the planet.”

Runners are doused with a powder-like paint color by color at different stations across the race. Many of the participants are first time runners so it was a good first race for families and participants of all ages.

Notre Dame student Clara Seaman is no stranger to the race, deciding to be a paint tosser this time around.

“I've done the run twice as a runner,” Seaman said. “It always looks so fun to be a tosser because you get covered in whatever you're throwing.”

The organization also partnered with some local charities: Make a Difference Michiana and Memorial Children’s Hospital.
