South Bend installing LED traffic lights

The city of South Bend has a bright idea to cut costs and also protect Mother Nature.

South Bend teamed up with Johnson Controls to remove the incandescent bulbs in traffic signals. They will be replaced with new LED lights that eliminate dangerous emissions into our environment.

The lights will last longer and save the city nearly 2 million dollars. The LED lights are expected to be up and running in about six months.
