Crews are still working at rebuilding Camp Eberhart, a YMCA camp that has been hit hard by a rash of storms. The camp suffered about $90,000 worth of damage, and parts of the camp have remained closed while cleaning crews work on rebuilding.

Camp director Brice Emanuel says that even though they have spent about $30,000 on clean-up, the crews have a long way to go.

"Well, we seem to make a little bit of progress and then get hit with another storm. We're working on it daily, we're making progress daily, we're just not making the same progress we hoped we would be making at this point," Emanuel said.

Emanuel says the first priority was to keep the kids safe, and cleaning crews worked on areas where the kids go first before moving on to other parts. About 90 kids attended the camp today.

The camp is accepting donations to help pay for the cost to remove the downed trees. They say so far they've received about $20,000, mostly from camp alumni, and are grateful for all the help they get. Many people are "donating" the downed trees for $100, which Emanuel says is roughly how much it costs to remove each one.

Another problem the park is facing is erosion from the rain waters that are flowing through areas where trees used to be. Many of the roads around camp have large ditches around and through them, and Emanuel is concerned about future rains and what they may do to the campgrounds.

He says he hasn't even begun to think about the winter to come, with the possibility of ice on trees. Furthermore, they haven't even walked some of the trails on the back of the 250 acre property; the figure of 300 downed trees is mainly based on what they've seen in the main 50 acres used for the camp.
