Roseland holds annual Celtic festival

There is a whole lot of culture out there, and you do not even have to go far to find it.

Folks in Roseland enjoyed their annual Celtic festival Saturday. Sports, tug-of-war, music, and food were among the festivities. There were even a few surprises about their own heritage.

"The thing I hear people say most is that they had no idea they had Celtic heritage in them. They go to our status-claim booth, and they give their last name, and do a little research, and find out where their family is from in Scotland or Ireland, so it's a pretty cool thing,” said Jenny Welsh, event organizer.

Saturday's Celtic games were in honor of Bryan Verkler, the Mishawaka police officer killed a few years ago.
