St. Joseph County residents may soon find out how high their property taxes will be.
Before the county can calculate and mail the bills the state of Indiana must approve tax rates for the county.
Up until now, a last minute request for additional information was standing in the way.
"We've delivered all the remaining last two issues back to the DLGF corrected, and resubmitted them, parcel data just went out yesterday and so just waiting to see whether or not they're satisfied with it, and we get final compliance on that," says St. Joseph County Assessor, David Wesolowski.
The assessor says state approval of tax rates for St. Joseph County looks to be about two weeks away.
