A German company is readying for a move into Plymouth's old Ready-Pac facility.
On Thursday, top officials from Zentis checked out their new North American manufacturing center. Zentis is in the business of fruit processing, and some samples were on hand for others to enjoy.
Lt. Governor Becky Skillman said that luring foreign companies is always a competitive process.
“Of course, we have to be very aggressive going after new jobs because we had a not so good track record for a while, and we're losing a number of manufacturing jobs,” explained Skillman.
Plymouth Mayor Gary Cook also commented on the new company by saying, “It means a lot to Plymouth, because when Ready-Pac was leaving we had a facility that was going to be sitting here empty. And with what this facility had to offer, it fit perfectly with what Zentis was asking for.”
Mayor Cook said that Zentis will bring 75 to 100 new jobs when it starts up next month, and will lead to more in the future.
