Saint James presenting award to local woman

It might be a lot to take on, but a Michiana woman wants to put a stop to child abuse. Carolyn Hahn, director of the Casie Center, will receive an award for all her efforts.

A special ceremony is being held Wednesday night at the South Bend Country Club.

“I think the important thing is that child abuse is topic that we talk about now where as before what happened in the home stayed in the home, and what happened to a child, the system wasn't able to deal with it, and now we deal with it,” said Carolyn Hahn, who is receiving the award.

On Wednesday, Emmy-winning actress Susan Saint James visited with students from the Montessori school.

She will be presenting the award at Wednesday night's dinner. If her face looks familiar, you might remember Saint James from television shows such as “Kate and Allie,” “McMillan and Wife,” or “The Name of the Game.”
