Dozens of South Bend Marines will be coming home from Afghanistan on Friday.

South Bend’s Engineering Company B deployed for training in California back in July of last year.

Friday night, 44 Marines will be back in Michiana after serving for seven months in Afghanistan. They spent that time engineering roads.

There's no word on whether they will be released to their families from the airport, or if they will have to return to the reserve base first.

The Marines volunteered for deployment because they said it was difficult to find jobs.
