Car accident in Granger leaves one dead

St Joseph County Police say a Cassopolis man is dead after he crashed into an SUV this morning in Granger.

Police say the accident happened around 8:10 a.m. at the intersection of Adams Rd. and Birch Rd.

86-year-old Worda Stanton from Cassopolis was southbound in his Cadillac on Birch Rd. Police say it is unclear at this time if he stopped at the stop sign, but he ended up crossing the path of a westbound Envoy on Adams Rd. The driver of the Envoy, Laura Rzepka of Granger, did not have a stop sign and continued through the intersection where it t-boned the Cadillac.

Rzepka was taken to Memorial Hospital.
