Thousands of Michiana students benefit from Pack-a-Backpack

Volunteers packed up backpacks Tuesday full of school supplies that you brought in for Newscenter16’s Pack-a-Backpack Drive

Backpacks of all shapes and colors were loaded up, which will soon be given out to Michiana kids.

The Boys & Girls Club received more than 400 backpacks to divide between area students.

“I think if we had more agencies like this, in a huge turnout, we'd be better off. Because these kids, they're the ones that benefit from it and the parents, like I said, if they have two or more kids in their household, it's definitely a benefit,” said Dawn Woods of the Boys & Girls Club,

According to Food Bank, about 7000 Michiana students from kindergarten to sixth grade will benefit from your generous donations.
