Michigan Technological University President Glenn Mroz and several Oakland County economic development officials will accompany Governor Granholm on her upcoming trade trip.
Granholm plans to leave Saturday for a weeklong trip to Sweden and Germany. While in Sweden, she hopes to tap into that country's efforts to meet Sweden's energy entirely with renewable fuels by 2020.
Several of Michigan State University's bioenergy experts already are in Sweden, along with members of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, to study what Swedish companies are doing.
Granholm will be meeting during her trip with companies involved in the automotive sector, tooling, biotechnology, photovoltaics and neurological drug development.
