Local parrot gains national attention

Peaches the cockatoo lives at the Black Pine Animal Park near Goshen, but has gained national attention for her foul mouth.

Peaches watched the theatrics of an irate chimpanzee throw its fecal waste at a cement crew worker working near a chimp enclosure and has had a tendency to repeat the vulgar words she heard ever since.

"When she hears a lot of noise and there's a lot of excitement around her she gets anxious and she started squawking and screaming then out came the expletive...shut your mouth with a little bit of color added in," said Peaches’ keeper Lori Gagen.

Parrots tend to repeat things they hear during a commotion, rather than constant individual teachings, however, the animal park thinks peaches may have also learned a few words from a previous owner.
