Friday night many local high school students will be lacing up their dancing shoes for a little fun while supporting local organizations.

The 2010 All-City Dance Showcase features modern, funk, jazz, ballet and more.

Twelve local high schools and dance teams will perform to selected songs all while raising money for Hannah's House in Mishawaka and Secret Sister's Society.

Rehearsal for Clay's dance team began in September and it's paid off. They won the state championship.

Coach Jenny Smith says, “We practice an average of four days a week, two to three hours each time so it’s a lot of conditioning, a lot of ballet dance technique and a lot of cleaning up the competition routines.”

Last year the event raised nearly $10,000.

Tickets for the fourth annual event are $10 and $5 for students.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at Clay High School in St. Joseph County.
