Teaching kids about the dangers of strangers can be easier said than done sometimes, but if a situation arises where your kids need to use self-defense, will they know what to do?
The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department wants to make sure they can educate as many children as possible in this scenario. So, they developed self-defense courses for children.
The courses are called "RAD", or the Resist Aggression Defensively classes.
The classes are divided up into two different classes by age and run as follows:
Ages 5-7: March 15 to 19
Ages 8-12: April 12 to 16
To become enrolled in the classes, call the Elkhart County Sheriff's office at (574) 535-6576. For more information, click on the Big Red Bar.
RAD classes are also offered for women on March 23 to 25 and March 30 to April 1.
