According to South Bend Police, the SWAT team was called out to a house near Indiana and Kendall just south of downtown at around 7 p.m. Sunday after a man says his brother threatened him with a gun.
Police officials on scene say a male suspect barricaded himself along with two young girls inside the home.
Police then fired golf ball sized gas cartriges into the home and according to Capt. Phil Trent of South Bend Police, the SWAT team entered the home searching room-by-room for the suspect.
Police entered the home and found the two girls - age 4 and 7 - but no man with a gun.
Neighbors were evacuated from the area and some roads were blocked off.
The suspect is still missing and the case is on its way to the prosecutor's office for possible charges.
