Scott Severns Memorial Golf Scramble

After months of planning, the weather held out perfectly for a golf outing with a special cause.

On Saturday afternoon, the Scott Severns Memorial Golf outing was held at Blackthorn Golf Club.

144 golfers participated in the 4 person scramble.

“Scott used to be a member out here. This was probably his favorite course to play. After everything happened and everything calmed down and we got together with his mom and said we need to put this on. We could have a great turnout and raise a lot of money for this event,” said Rich Love.

A total of $35,000 was raised, 10,000 of which was donated by Applebees.

The money will go towards the heroes section at South Bend's Southlawn Cemetery where local police officers and their families can be buried.
