Mom Behind Bars After Leaving Kids in Car

A Michigan City mother is behind bars Thursday night after being accused of leaving her five children in a hot car while she went shopping.

LaToya Witt, 21 years old, faces charges of neglect.

According to the Herald-Argus, police found the kids in a Wal-Mart parking lot.

At the time, the temperature was over 90-degrees and all of the car windows were rolled up.

The children, who range from 3 months to 5 years old, are now in foster care.

Witt is being held in the LaPorte County Jail, without bond.
