Kids Attend Local Fire Camp

Some local kids are getting a glimpse of what it is like to be a firefighter or paramedic.

It is all a part of Fire Camp.

This week, kids between the ages of 10-13 are learning what emergency personnel do day-in and day-out.

For some, this is not just a camp – it is a glimpse into their future.

“I didn’t really have anything to do last summer so I decided to do this camp and I liked it, so I decided to do it again this year. And now I want to be fireman,” said Logan Devries, who is attending the camp.

On Wednesday at camp, the kids were given a first-hand look at the med-flight helicopter from Memorial Hospital.
