Colgate Recall

Before you brush your teeth, you may want to double check the tube.

The FDA is recalling five ounce tubes of toothpaste that have been falsely packaged as Colgate.

Colgate-Palmolive says the counterfeit toothpaste may contain the poisonous chemical diethylene glycol or D.E.G.

D.E.G. is used in antifreeze and the FDA says exposure could cause problems for children and people with kidney or liver disease.

Company officials say the counterfeit toothpaste is labeled as "manufactured in South Africa."

Colgate says it does not import toothpaste into the U.S. from South Africa.
