It is Compton Traditional Rendezvous time at the Berrien County Sportsman’s Club in Berrien Springs.
The event brings people together for a few days of bow shooting.
The Compton Traditional Bowhunters is a national organization that promotes the use of old-time archery equipment.
This weekend people of all ages will shoot arrows at everything from imaginary animals to flying targets.
“We have people here from England, from France, Germany from all over the United States, Canada. This is the largest archery gathering in the United States, and perhaps in the world," said Fred Asbell, a member of the Compton Traditional Bowhunters.
“The one thing that you experience here is that everyone is really pleased with being here, and it’s sort of infectious. Everyone wants to help someone else to get all the people involved,” continued Asbell.
Last year, over 6,000 people enjoyed the bow shooting event.
