He has proven his point once again. He loves the camera and the camera loves him.

Monday night WNDU showed you the world famous San Diego Chicken’s audition for sports reporter.

Jeff Jeffers told the chicken he did not quite make the cut. However, the prince of poultry’s strength is not informing people, but entertaining them.

“When I’m in town I try to catch this game...I love minor league baseball. . .this is wonderful, wonderful night, this is the best of America,” said John Schmidt.

Fans were excited to see the infamous Chicken at Coveleski Stadium Tuesday night.

“I think the chicken makes it a little more fun, he bought a lot more crowd..the crowd makes it more exciting,” said one fan.

Another spectator added, “he's involving the kids and that's what’s most important...he's fun to watch. They're having a good time.”

It has been ten years since the chicken has visited South Bend. Fortunately, if you missed the chicken Tuesday night, he'll be back again on August 3rd.
