Tuesday was National Hunger Awareness Day.
It is a staggering statistic; more than 35-million Americans go hungry each day.
To raise awareness about the issue, dozens of local organizations convoyed to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana Tuesday to make a donation.
Robin Fuller, Northern Indiana Food Bank said, “So many people don't even know what a food bank is they think it is a pantry but um we are not a pantry we are kind of middle man we distribute food to organizations that distribute food to the needy.”
The food bank delivers food to six counties and distributes more than 15-thousand pounds of food daily.
