No Survivors In The Lake Michigan Plane Crash

The U.S. Coast Guard says no one survived a plane crash in Lake Michigan this week.

Rescue crews spent the night searching for any survivors in Lake Michigan near Milwaukee after a small medical transport plane crashed Monday afternoon.

Officials say the plane was carrying a transplant organ team of four people, when it reported engine problems and crashed shortly after take off.

Early Monday morning, the Coast Guard called off the search for survivors.

Bruce Jones, U.S. Coast Guard says, "No survivors have been found. Additional aircraft debris has been found. Human remains have been found. The remains have been gathered by Coast Guard personnel by boat under the oversight of the Milwaukee medical examiner. The condition of the aircraft debris and human remains found indicate a high speed impact.”

The six on board included the four from the transplant organ team, a pilot and co-pilot.
