Just because school is out, does not mean students are taking a break from the books.
The summer reading program is underway at the St. Joseph County Public Library.
So far, in the two weeks the program has been going on this summer, more than two thousand kids have already signed up.
The program's rules are simple, the more books you read, the more prizes you can earn.
Kris Springer of children services says, “You can read at home can read at the park. Can library especially since it a wonderful air conditioned space on a day like today.”
Some of the prizes range from a free frosty at Wendy’s to an I-pod for the teen-adult readers.
To sign-up, just head to one of the nine St. Joseph County Library branches.
