Gas Prices Putting a Damper on Summer Plans

If you are traveling this summer, try not to let those high gas prices put the brakes on your plans.

As the sun comes up, so do the gas prices – again.

It is certainly a rough start to what could be a very costly holiday weekend, the highest ever, as summer kicks off.

The national average for gas is more than $3.20 a gallon, but here in Michiana prices at the pump are even higher.

More than 32 million people are expected to take a Memorial Day trip, but some folks are already beginning to scale back by using other forms of transportation, such as biking.

That plan is harder to implement on the water, where high prices are making it tough for some boaters to stay afloat.

If the cost of gas is not enough to get you down, Americans will also be spending more to grill out this Memorial Day weekend.

Due to higher fuel and feed costs, steak and chicken prices are up 5-8%.
