Age of Excellence Awards

More than 100 people were honored on Thursday for helping the elderly and disabled.

Nearly 400 people gathered at the Century Center in South Bend for the 11th annual "Age of Excellence" awards by Real Services.

The ceremony recognizes volunteers who are committed to helping older adults and low-income families.

“We are recognizing all the volunteers and we are giving nine awards, but all the nominees are being recognized for all the work that they do,” said Mary Porter of Real Services.

Real Services has been around for 41 years.
