Police officers, who died in the line of duty, were remembered Friday in South Bend.
A crowd gathered in front of the South Bend Police Headquarters to honor the fallen officers.
Some in attendance had no connection to the police department they were just there to show support for the officers.
For others like Pat Derue-Nemeth this memorial holds a special place in her heart.
Her late husband, Corporal Tom Derue was shot and killed in 1974 during an armed robbery.
She said, "It shows respect for all police officers who are still alive and the ultimate sacrifice that those on the wall have given. I've been going to this for 32 year and it still means a lot to me to know that everybody still does remember all the officers that were killed."
The South Bend Police Department gives out an annual award in Pat's name for her dedication to the police department for over 30 years.
