A majority of the sometimes raucous Roseland Town Council will be moving on at the end of the year.
Incumbent town council president Charley Shields lost his re-election bid in Tuesday’s Democratic primary.
Shields had served on the council for about 16 years.
Shields picked up 23 votes, while Robin Ackerson received 34, and Elizabeth McCombs tallied 41.
Since only two Roseland council seats are up for grabs this fall, Shields is the odd man out.
David Snyder will also be leaving the council at the end of 2007.
He chose not to run for re-election.
