Journey Knee Provides Hope

Many younger people who blew their knees out early from sports or weight problems, as well as those with arthritis are looking for relief.

Now some doctors are recommending the new Journey Knee. Orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Jonathan Garino says, “It's made out of special material that has ceramic coatings on it and those ceramic coatings mean that it doesn't wear out as fast and we've shown this in the lab. The second thing is that it is more like a normal knee, more natural in terms of it's shape. And when it's more natural in terms of its shape, it feels better, it bends better and it rotates more like a normal knee."

Doctors say most people who get the journey knee are out of bed and walking the day after surgery.

Expect it to take at least six weeks to completely recover.

Manufacturers say younger people and athletes are the best candidates for the journey knee because it can return them to the highest activity level.
