A Valparaiso Police Officer is cleared in the accidental shooting of a retired grade school teacher.
Marilyn Stephens was killed on April 10th, during a stand-off between her ex-husband and police.
The Porter County Prosecutor says Officer Daniel Koepke was justified in attempting to use deadly force.
An investigation determined a bullet he fired ricocheted off a car and struck Stephens.
Officer Koepke will return to the department in a couple of days.
He is been on paid leave for the past month.
