Alvarez Goes Through Second Competency Hearing

A second competency hearing was held Friday for an Elkhart mother accused of killing her four children.

According to our Read It, Watch It partners at the Truth.

Two psychiatrists said Friday they do not believe Angelica Alvarez is competent to stand trial.

A third psychiatrist found she was competent.

27-year-old Angelica Alvarez is accused of killing her children, ages two to eight, last November.

The bodies of the children were found in the basement of her Elkhart home.

Judge Terry Shewmaker says he will rule on Alvarez's competency within 30 days.

He also pushed back her trial date from May 21st until next March.
