Childhood Obesity and Early Maturity Could Be Genetic

“Blame it on mom,” is the key point from a new study on childhood obesity.

Researchers found women who started menstruating at a young age were likely to be short and overweight, and her children carried some of the same traits.

They were likely to experience rapid weight gain and growth during infancy a pattern that can result in short stature and obesity as adults.
