Canines Invade The Cove

Sunday's weather made for a great afternoon at the ballpark.

Baseball fans at South Bend's Cove even had a chance to bring their furry friends along.

It was "Canines at the cove" day at Coveleski Stadium.

Fans were invited to bring their dogs as the Silver Hawks took on the Clinton Lumberkings.

All dogs got a free ticket with their owner's purchase of a seat.

The Silver Hawks mascot, Swoop, also led a pooch parade around the field before first pitch.

Chris Gygi, Silver Hawks fan said, “They're like friends, always good to have them with us, like a part of the family, like our kids you know.”

“It's a beautiful day and with it being doggie day, we thought we'd bring them out. This is first time we brought them out to doggie day at the Cove,” said Judy Morgan.

Later this summer, the Silver Hawks will be hosting another doggie day at the Cove.
