Indiana’s 713 Engineer Company of the National Guard has returned home to happy smiles from their families.
The Valparaiso-based unit was deployed to Afghanistan, where they cleared explosives from combat and supply routes.
Sadly six members of the unit did not make it home. Four of them were killed in an explosion this January, and two others died in July.
