People Come Together in Rememberance of Richard Eakins

People in Elkhart remembered a homeless man killed in a South Bend fire last month.

Richard Eakins, 50, was found in a burned out building near the corner of Walnut and Western on March 23rd.

Saturday, those who knew him came out to the Salvation Army in Elkhart to reflect on his life.

They showed pictures of Eakins and talked about his earlier years.

Friends also got up and read parts of his poems before the audience
