A LaPorte soldier killed in Iraq will be laid to rest on Saturday afternoon.
22 year old Corporal Jason Beadles of the 101st airborne division based out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky will be buried at Patton Cemetery.
Friday hundreds gathered for his visitation at the Essling Funeral home in LaPorte.
For the Beadle family this hits especially close to home with a long history of military service.
They say Beadles was electrocuted while moving concrete barriers in Baghdad. It was a non-combat-related injury.
“It makes me feel good... knowing there is another deployment in our family's horizon with my husband... it makes me feel good there are people that do support our soldiers,” says Katie Beadles, Jason’s sister-in-law.
“He was only 22 old. He knew his job and he knew what he was doing and for something like this to happen to him like I said to the newspaper it is just a random freak accident... it was real shocker,” says Jason’s brother, Josh Beadles.
The funeral is set for Saturday morning at eleven (central time) at LaPorte High School.
The burial is at Patton Cemetery in LaPorte.
