Parking Lot Geese Get A New Home

A few brave animal workers ruffled some feathers Friday morning.

Critter Control workers were called in Friday to round up geese at Movies 14 in Mishawaka.

We told you last week that this goose decided to nest in the movie theater parking lot.

Mother goose was pretty easy to catch, which means her and her eggs are now headed to the Tri-County Game Preserve near North Webster, Indiana.

John Crothers Owner of Critter Control said, "I think in the long run with the cars around with the traffic you're seeing with the people. It's probably best to have them more in a natural habitat especially the female and now if she sits on this clutch still the babies will be born in a natural habitat where they don't have to worry about getting hit by cars or people harming them at all."

Canada geese are federally protected birds.

Critter Control is the only company in the area licensed by the DNR to handle geese and geese eggs.
