Elkhart Shooting

Elkhart Police are looking into a possible shooting that happened early Thursday morning.

Police say 47 year old Anthony Frazier was found dead in his apartment.

Elkhart police were called out to the one hundred block of Fifth Street around 10:20 Thursday morning.

The landlord stopped by to pick up the rent when he found the body.

Several neighbors say they heard gunshots earlier that morning.

Frazier was a member of the True Vine Tabernacle Church.

Church members say they helped him find the apartment. He had only been living there for a few months.

“We help out. This is one of those who may have had some drug and alcohol problems and this is one of the tragedies that we didn't get to early enough,” says Jose Cereno from True Vine Tabernacle Church.

“This morning it was really early about 3-30 and we just heard just a really loud.. bang bang bang,” says neighbor Margaret Baldwin.

Police have yet to release the official cause of death.

No suspects have been arrested at this time.
