Benton Harbor Schools Run Into Budget Problems

Benton Harbor Schools could run into some major budget problems if state funding cuts go through.

Michigan lawmakers are currently trying to dig out of a $940 million deficit.

Superintendent Paula Dawning tells our partners at WSJM radio, If the state cuts funding, there is no way the district could recover this year's budget.

This week, the Benton Harbor School Board voted to "pink slip" 27 teachers, because of current budget problems and expected drops in enrollment.
