More Recalls For Pet Food

The Nationwide pet food recall is expanding.

The chemical that led to the original recall of cat and dog food has been found to contaminate a second pet food ingredient.

The Food and Drug Administration says melamine is believed to have contaminated rice protein concentrate.

Now, natural balance is recalling all its venison and brown rice canned and bagged dog foods, venison and brown rice dog treats, and venison and green pea dry cat food.

The California based company said recent lab tests showed the products contained melamine.

That is the same chemical that tainted the ingredient wheat gluten forcing the recall of more than 100 brands of dog and cat foods earlier this year.
